Job Description

In high school, when it came to the student council, you always knew that Jessie from algebra would make a spectacular class treasurer. You've always known how to read between the lines of a resume and you have an uncanny ability to pick out the best egg in a basket full of winners. You believe teams and personalities are a lot like puzzle pieces and every day you wake up excited to help find and nurture that perfect fit. With those kinds of matchmaking skills, is it a coincidence that you found us or that we found you? We think not.

At Vital Farms, we're on a mission to change the food industry one ethically-sourced ingredient at a time. While we're known for our pasture raised eggs - giving our hens 108 square feet to roam and calling bullsh*t on terms like cage free and free range - the truth is we've got big plans to do so much more. That's because we give a cluck when it comes to the health of our animals, the health of our customers, and the health of our planet.

How about you? If you're still reading this, that probably means you love changing people's lives for the better, too, so let's talk about how you can do more of what you love as a Recruiting Manager at Vital Farms.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Talent, you're a self-starter who thinks outside the coop, coming up with creative recruiting strategies that will attract amazing candidates from all walks of life. Flexible, innovative, and data-driven, you understand that no two hiring situations are ever the same, which means you know how to weave through the proverbial hay and grit to get to those golden eggs.

Your ability to mentor, collaborate and instill confidence in your team comes to you as organically as our Vital Farms feed and seed.

On a day-to-day basis, you can look forward to the following:

  • Manage the Recruiting Team: lay out goals, monitor performance, develop, coach, and incubate greatness
  • Develop innovative sourcing strategies and recruiting campaigns from the barn to the boardroom
  • Build Vital Farms' Employer Brand while keeping all your chicks in a row
  • Evolve hiring metrics and KPIs, and enhance reporting
  • Serve as an eggcellent thought partner to Hiring Managers to create optimal hiring outcomes
  • Roll up your sleeves and own high priority or complex job requisitions
  • Manage vendor and third-party agency relationships for seamless communications

What You Bring to the Table

  • First, you bring a big ol' helping of passion for ethically-sourced, nutritious food and purpose-driven brands. And you bring extra napkins.
  • BA/BS degree; if there were such a thing as a BL (Bachelor of Listening), you'd probably have that, too.
  • 6+ years of experience in recruiting, with at least three years leading teams
  • Strong track record of success meeting talent goals for the business - you know how to get to yes with hiring managers and candidates and you love making that happen
  • History of innovative and data driven hiring and branding solutions; in other words, excel enhances your intuition
  • Phenomenal people skills - exemplary communication and interpersonal skills. We used the word "exemplary" there, so we're serious about this one.
  • Can influence others and build strong relationships. Some might say you can sell sand to a camel herder.
  • Ability to work in a virtual environment and collaborate remotely. Zoom Zoom, anyone?
  • You believe "we" is greater than "me". You know the power of teamwork and celebrate the work of others before your own.
  • You give a sh*t. About the animals. About relationships. About keeping things real. You believe in acting like an owner and making Vital Farms a place to be proud of.
  • You hold yourself to the highest standards and you strive to improve yourself and others each and every day, even Saturdays, when you compete in sign spinning competitions.
  • You can walk in someone else's boots - You seek to understand other's viewpoints and think that you get to better answers by sitting on the same side of the table.
  • Honest conversations don't ruffle your feathers and you don't walk on eggshells. You're not afraid to call a spade a spade and you expect your colleagues to do the same.

What We Bring To The Table

  • A fast-paced, energetic environment with passionate people who are leading a movement to bring ethically produced food to the table
  • Competitive pay and benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, Paid Parental Leave, and weekly lunches, just to name a few)
  • Company-wide bonus program; when we succeed together, we celebrate together
  • Generous retirement contributions: 401(k) + 3% Contribution from Day 1
  • Free eggs, butter, and ghee, along with friends and family discounts
  • Fun team SWAG that will make you the talk of the town
  • Professional development opportunities and an amazing team dedicated to your growth
